Jim McHugh '94
One of the greatest field-event athletes in Charger track & field history, Jim was an NAIA national champion in the high jump in 1993 and 1994. He cleared 7 feet, 1 inch in the high jump, a school record that still stands today. After winning the NAIA high jump championship, McHugh was among the first to compete at the NCAA Division II track championships, finishing tied for third by clearing 6-10. McHugh goes down as one of Hillsdale’s first NAIA and NCAA individual All-American men’s track athletes.
