A masterful start earned Hillsdale College baseball's
Jacob Pallo conference recognition for the first time in his career, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced on Monday.
Pallo was named the G-MAC North Division Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career after taming the G-MAC-leading Northwood Timberwolves in a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
The sophomore from Grand Rapids threw a complete-game one-hitter to defang one of the conference's top offenses, striking out four and allowing just seven baserunners in seven innings for his first career shutout.
Pallo has been on the rise in Hillsdale's staff throughout his second season, going from a bit player as a freshman to a weekend starter with three victories and two complete games in 11 appearances this season. His 42.2 innings pitched and his 29 strikeouts both rank third among Hillsdale pitchers this season.
The sophomore's stellar start helped Hillsdale become the first team in the G-MAC this season to split with Northwood, handing the Timberwolves their second and third conference losses in 2025, and greatly boosted the Chargers' chances of reaching the G-MAC Tournament after narrowly missing out last season. Hillsdale will head into a weekend road series with Tiffin this Saturday and Sunday with a shot at locking up a bid, and currently sit in third in the G-MAC standings overall.
