Hillsdale College’s SAAC Mission:

The Hillsdale College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s mission is to enhance the student-athlete experience by creating opportunities to give back to a supportive community and reward academic success. SAAC gives athletes a voice in the NCAA. Members represent their teams in fundraising and donating their time to philanthropies while supporting each other. SAAC members promote a positive image for what it means to be a Division II athlete.

Annual Requirements:

  • Have one member of each team represented at every SAAC meeting
  • Provide a “Sport Short” each meeting to update members on each team’s progress and successes
  • Log at least one hour of community service per member
  • Have each team represented at every SAAC event, athletic season permitting
  • Participate in NCAA legislative voting grids

Recent Projects: 

  • August 2019: 2nd Annual Freshman Student-Athlete Orientation
  • May 2019: The Charger ESPY’s, annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of Student-Athletes
  • Spring 2019: Hosting Kid’s Nights for Parent’s night out
  • November 2018 and January 2019: SAAC Academic Excellence celebrations at basketball games to honor Student-Athletes who received a 3.4 or higher the previous semester
  • October 2018: The “Costum-ize your Professor” Halloween themed fundraiser for Make-a-Wish
  • January 25, 2017: "Miracle Minute" during Men's Charger Basketall vs. Trevecca Nazarene to raise funds for the American Cancer Society as a part of the Coaches vs. Cancer - Suits & Sneakers initiative. 
  • October 21, 2017: "Miracle Minute" at halftime of Charger Football vs. Walsh game raised $373.93 for Make-A-Wish
