Biography

2017: Started 23 games at catcher for the Chargers, with 13 hits and 12 runs scored…Had hits in each of his first two games of the season while driving in two in his season debut…Had doubles in three consecutive games from March 19-24…Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored against Ashland March 24…Also made one relief pitching appearance against Lake Erie.

2016: Appeared in 12 games, starting one…Had 4 hits, 5 RBI, and 2 doubles…Took the mound in 5 games, contributing 3.1 innings and 3 strikeouts while giving up only 1 run in a 9-8 win over Saginaw Valley April 23.

High School: A catcher from Howell High School, who aided the baseball team to District Championships in 2013 and 2014 as well as a Regional Championship in 2013…He earned KLAA Scholar Athlete and All-District Academic honors…He was a team captain of the Howell Hawks Gold…Academically, he was a member of the National Honor Society and earned National Merit Scholar Commendation and the HHS Academic Achievement Award…He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Link Crew that mentors high school freshmen…Born August 8, 1997…Parents are Doug and Laurie Ackerman.
