2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team
2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team
The Hillsdale College men's and women's tennis programs each had successful seasons on the court in the 2024-25 school year, each finishing with a winning record and in the top four in the G-MAC.
Along with that on-court success, two Hillsdale players matched that success in the classroom with an elite academic showing as well, and that pair have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators with Academic All-District honors. In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must be either a starter or a meaningful contributor, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. Sophomore
Ellis Klanduch earned the distinction for the Hillsdale men's tennis team, and senior
Courtney Rittel received the honor for the Chargers women's tennis team.
Klanduch also was a second-team All-G-MAC honoree after a strong season in 2024-25. He took on a much more important role for the Chargers as a sophomore, playing almost exclusively at No.1 or No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in a partnership with fellow sophomore
Henry Hammond, and posting a 15-11 singles record, including a 6-2 mark in conference play. Klanduch was twice named the G-MAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his performances for the Chargers, and also finished at .500 in doubles with Hammond as his primary partner, going 12-12 on the season with a 5-3 record in G-MAC play.Â
Rittel was a mainstay in the lineup for Hillsdale's women's tennis team throughout the 2024-25 season, playing primarily at the No. 4 singles position. She was a huge asset for the Chargers in doubles play, posting a 17-11 record and playing either No. 1 or No. 2 doubles for the entire season, with partners
Ane Dannhauser,
Megan Hackman and
Libby McGivern. Those doubles victories helped Hillsdale to a 14-10 overall record and its best regular season G-MAC finish since the 2019-20 season.
Both players have excelled academically, achieving a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. Rittel graduated with honors this past weekend from Hillsdale with a degree in Sport Management, while Klanduch will choose his major this summer with half of his college career still to come.
