2024-25 ITA NCAA DII Scholar Athlete Awards
Once again, the Hillsdale College women's tennis team was well represented as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association recognized student-athletes who excelled in the classroom on Tuesday morning.Â
Four Hillsdale College players achieved a 3.5 or better GPA for the 2024-25 school year, exceeding the threshold to earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors for the campaign.
The Chargers were led by graduated senior
Courtney Rittel, who wrapped up her collegiate career by winning the ITA Scholar-Athlete award for the third time. Two other Hillsdale players were repeat recipients, as graduated senior
Libby McGivern and rising senior
Isabella Spinazze each earned recognition for the second straight campaign.
Along with the three veterans,
Briana Rees capped her freshman campaign by earning the honor as well for the Chargers in her first season of competition at Hillsdale.
In addition to individual recognition, the Chargers were also recognized as a team by the ITA, easily exceeding the 3.2 GPA threshold across its roster to receive the Team Academic Award. The honor makes the eighth time in nine seasons that Hillsdale has won the ITA Team Academic Award. In total, 705 NCAA DII Women's student-athletes and 104 programs were recognized by the ITA for the 2024-25 season.
