Chargers' Ane Dannhauser recognized as G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Sept. 1-15)

The 2025-26 women's tennis season kicked off over the past two weekends, and it's not surprise to see Hillsdale College's Ane Dannhauser already earning recognition.

The well-decorated junior earned the G-MAC's Women's Tennis Player of the Week award for the start of the 2025-26 campaign after a strong opening tournament. It's Dannhauser's sixth weekly conference award in a career that's included G-MAC Freshman of the Year honors and two All-G-MAC honors.

Dannhauser was excellent for the Chargers in Hillsdale's home summer invitational on Sept. 5 and 6, winning two of three singles matches and teaming with sophomore Briana Rees to take two of three doubles matches against solid competition.

She rolled past Paola Herrera Rivera of Lawrence Tech 6-2, 6-0 and Yadi Mara of Ferris State 6-1, 6-4 in her singles wins to place second in the A flight, and in tandem with Rees, beat Lawrence Tech in a 6-0 doubles match and won 6-4 over a team from Ferris State to take third in the A doubles flight as well.

With four wins, Dannhauser is up to 75 for her Hillsdale career, and is closing in on the 100 win mark this season. She would be the first Charger to reach that milestone in several seasons should she get there.

Next up for the Chargers is another home invitational this weekend, as Hillsdale plays host to G-MAC rivals Walsh and Findlay and Midwest Region powerhouse Wayne State in a high-level fall competition, beginning on Saturday.
