2020: The Chargers’ every-day shortstop, started 16 games for Hillsdale in the Covid-19-shortened season…batted .265 in 49 plate appearances with two doubles, a home run and seven RBIs, with multi-hit games against Lewis (Feb. 20), Upper Iowa (March 8) and MSU-Mankato (March 12)…finished the season with a .933 fielding percentage defensively, with 11 put outs and 17 assists…retains her senior status due to the NCAA ruling on spring sports athletes affected by Covid-19 and has one year of eligibility remaining in 2021.
2019: Reclaimed the starting shortstop position after shoulder surgery after the 2017 season and was named Second-Team All-Conference, combining a strong arm with a powerful bat at the plate…Batted .335, and landed in Hillsdale’s single-season top 10 list in three offensive categories: hits (53), RBI (34) and doubles (16)…Had seven multi-RBI games and 16 multi-hit games…Had 9 RBI in back-to-back sweeps of Malone and Walsh April. 5-6.
2018: Showed courage and toughness in coming back from offseason surgery to become another big asset to the team offensively…Filled the role of designated player and batted .302 with two home runs and eight doubles…Increased her walk rate while cutting down on her strikeout rate…Homered in both ends of a doubleheader at Trevecca Nazarene March 24…Went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and a run batted in during Hillsdale’s G-MAC Tournament-clinching win over Kentucky Wesleyan May 5…Had eight multi-hit games.
2017: Grabbed the starting shortstop position and had an outstanding freshman campaign, being named honorable mention All-GLIAC…Batted .312 and had a huge middle of April…Had two 4 RBI games six days apart…Had hits in nine of 11 games in a stretch from April 1-15, totaling 15 hits in that streak…Had eight multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games…Started 35 of the 37 games she played in…Hit home runs against Minnesota Duluth and Northwood.
High School: An honorable mention all-state shortstop from Highland High School who helped her team to a conference title in 2016…In her senior season, she batted .322 and had a fielding percentage of .983…Her junior year she was named first-team all-conference and honorable mention all-district…She also played varsity basketball and volleyball…Her basketball team was District Runner-Up in 2013…She was awarded the Female Athlete of the Year award from her high school her junior year…She played travel softball with the Ohio Outlaws…She was a member of the National Honor Society and was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award all four years…In the community, she volunteered at the Salvation Army, the Cleveland Food Bank, the Medina County District Library, and was a special education peer leader…Born January 15, 1998…Parents are Eric and Lisa Catron.
