The Hillsdale College athletic department is proud to to have a decorated alumnus in Jeff Lantis as its Director of Development for Athletics. Lantis has been working with Athletics in a fundraising and alumni outreach capacity since joining the department on August 1, 2014.
Lantis is a very familiar face to those associated with Charger athletics. He served the college as its Director of Admissions from 1989 to 2013, and prior to that, was an All-American wide receiver for the football program. He was a senior on the 1985 Charger team that won the NAIA national championship.
In his role as Director of Admissions, Lantis met tens of thousands of Hillsdale College students, and developed a keen understanding of the college’s mission as well as the makeup of its students. He's put the lessons learned from his previous role to work in establishing an independent athletic department endowment.
Among the major projects completed with Lantis' assistance since his appointment in 2014 are the construction of Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena as the home for the Chargers' volleyball and basketball programs, the reimagining of Hayden Park and the construction of the brand new outdoor track and field facility there, the completion of Lenda and Glenda Hill Stadium and TFO Partners Field as the home of Hillsdale's baseball team, and the construction of the Salmans Golf Performance Center at Hayden Park as the home of Hillsdale's men's golf team. Lantis also played an important role in the 2024 launch of the Charger Champions Club as the new fundraising arm for Hillsdale College athletics.
When Lantis took over as Director of Admissions, incoming freshmen to the college had an average ACT score of 21 and an average high school grade point average of 3.1. Those numbers rose dramatically throughout his tenure, to become 29 (ACT) and 3.81(high school GPA).
Lantis and his wife Kelly reside in Hillsdale and have four children, all of whom graduated from Hillsdale College.
