Box Score 2014-15 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball Release
Achieving so much on the court and in the classroom last year did nothing to slow down Hillsdale College women's basketball senior Megan Fogt.
For the second consecutive year, Fogt earned a place on the CoSIDA Captial One Academic All-District Team. She is now eligible for academic All-American status, an award she also won a year ago.
This award is nominated by and voted on sports information directors from Division II schools across the country. Cooper is the first Charger men's basketball player under head coach John Tharp to earn a spot on the academic all-district team. He is just one of five players in District 4 (which is equivalent to the Midwest Region) to earn this honor. Kyle Cooper erned the honor on the men's basketball side, making Hillsdale College the only District 4 institution to place players on both the men's and women's academic all-district teams.
Fogt's excellence on the court and in the classroom were big factors in her winning this award. She carries an overall grade point average of 3.9 and is majoring in exercise science. She has been accepted into The Ohio State University's Occupational Therapy Graduate Program, which she will start in the Fall of 2015.
A three-year starter for the Chargers, Fogt is currently averaging 14.9 points and 9 rebounds per game for a much-improved Hillsdale squad. This year's team has already exceeded the season win total of the 2013-14 team, and Fogt has been named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week twice this season. She is the reigning GLIAC Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-American selection last year.
