Allison Kuzma of the Hillsdale College women's cross country team continued an excellent 2025 campaign with another strong race at the prestigious Louisville Classic on Saturday morning.

Kuzma obliterated her previous cross country 5K personal best with a time of 17:04.1 to finish 12th in the race as an individual, and second among NCAA DII athletes in a massive field that was made up of mainly NCAA Division I competition.

The excellent race is another sign that Kuzma, the 2024 G-MAC runner-up as an individual, will be tough to beat in the 2025 edition of the race, scheduled to take place at the end of October.

As a team, the Chargers placed 23rd overall against a tough field of competition. Eleanor Clark was the next finisher after Kuzma across the line for the Chargers, placing 135th in 18:35.2, a new personal best for the 5K, and freshman Grace Tykocki placed 171st with a time of 19:05 for Hillsdale.

Victoria Stonebraker was 220th in 19:34.1 for the Chargers, and freshman Caroline Roberts rounded out the scoring runners for Hillsdale with a 225th place finish and a new personal best time of 19:37.7. 

Freshman Taylor Klimp finished in 235th place in a new personal best of 19:46.9 as well for the Chargers, and freshman Mavis Banks placed 261st in a new personal best of 20:14.0.

The Louisville Classic was the last race standing between the Chargers and the G-MAC Championship meet, scheduled to take place on Oct. 25 in Midland, Michigan. Hillsdale will hope to improve upon a third place finish as a team in 2024, while Kuzma will look to extend a streak of Chargers individual conference championship crowns to three after Liz Wamsley won for Hillsdale in 2023 and Evyn Humphrey in 2024.
