2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Teams
Another 20 win campaign for the Hillsdale College men's basketball team in 2024-25 proved the Chargers remain a formidable team on the court.
The Chargers are very successful off it as well, as the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards announced on Tuesday afternoon show.
Hillsdale received the maximum number of four honorees for the award once again this year, with three repeat winners and one three-time recipient. In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must be either a starter or a meaningful contributor, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. Academic All-District honorees are entered into consideration to receive prestigious Academic All-American honors from CSC later in mid-March, as voted on and selected by institution SIDs at the NCAA DII level.
Seniors
Joe Reuter and
Charles Woodhams and junior
Ashton Janowski all received the honor in 2023-24 and earned the award again for this past season. For Woodhams, it's his third time being recognized with the honor, as he also earned recognition as a sophomore in 2022-23. In addition to those three repeat winners, Hillsdale sophomore
Mikey McCollum also earned Academic All-District recognition for the first time in his career.
Not only are the quartet an extremely smart group of basketball players, they're also among the Chargers' best players. All four honorees averaged double-digits in points this past season as Hillsdale's top four scorers, with Reuter, Woodhams and Janowski starting all 30 contests and McCollum averaging 21.8 minutes per game off the bench in 29 games for the Chargers. As leaders on the court and excellent students off it, all four set a tremendous example for their teammates and all Chargers athletes as a whole.
Fifteen All-Americans will be chosen from the All-District winners to be recognized as CSC Academic All-Americans, and the selections will be announced on April 15.
