The Hillsdale College men's golf team backed up a successful 2024-25 season on the course on Tuesday afternoon with an award from the Golf Coaches Association of America that showed they were just as good in the classroom.
The Chargers were one of 52 Division II men's golf programs from across the country to receive the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, part of a GCAA record 292 schools across all divisions.
In order to receive the Team Academic Award, men's golf teams must post a combined cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, a number the Chargers exceeded in 2024-25. The award comes after golfers
Ryan O'Rourke and
Filippo Reale had previously earned CSC Academic All-District honors, and O'Rourke and
Robert Thompson had been named All-America Scholars by the GCAA earlier this summer.Â
Hillsdale's men's golf team will kick off the 2025-26 campaign in September, starting with the Malone-Glenmoor Fall Classic on Sept. 8.
