Week after week, Hillsdale College senior
Ben Haas shows why he's one of the best men's track and field athletes in the country.
The thrower once again earned recognition from the G-MAC for his performance last Friday, earning Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second week in a row, the third time this season and the 12th time in his career at Hillsdale.
Competing at home in the Chargers' Wide Track Classic, Haas took back the top spot in the NCAA Division II weight throw standings with a season-best mark of 21.65 meters, beating out old rival Levi Graham of Lewis for the top spot. It's another strong performance for Haas, who has been one of the nation's best weight throwers his entire career. He's earned three All-American honors in the event and was the 2025 NCAA DII National Champion, while his personal best of 22.89 meters is the fourth-farthest throw in the history of the division.Â
Haas is looking to cap his collegiate indoor track and field career with another national title in March, and he'll continue working towards that goal this weekend, traveling down to Indianapolis for the Midwest Classic, a meet that should pit him against strong NCAA DI competition.Â
