Corbin, Dale Selected to US National Team at Fall Selection Match

Members of the Hillsdale College Shotgun Team traveled to Colorado Springs, CO to compete in the 2026 USA Shooting Fall Selection Match. The event, held August 26th-September 7th, consisted of 250 targets of either International Skeet or International Trap and was used in conjunction with the 2026 USA Shooting National Championship to select teams to represent the United States in ISSF World-level matches this Fall.

The first week of the event was International Skeet. Senior Madeline Corbin led the way for the Chargers, breaking 230/250 targets. She earned the 4th position in the Open Women's Final. Battling against Olympians and some of the best in the world, she finished in 3rd place and won the bronze medal. She also competed in the Junior Women's Final but did not place. For her performance, she was selected to the Women's National Team. She also won the Collegiate Bronze medal.

Four other Chargers also competed in this half of the event. Senior Davis Hay broke 225/250 targets. Freshman Cameron Roberts hit 218 which was 9th among Junior Men, just short of the score needed to make the Junior Men's final. Senior Luke Johnson hit 217 and sophomore Zach Hinze had 204/250. Also competing was Assistant Coach Kyle Fleck who hit 235/250 and ended the match in 10th place, just outside of the top 8 needed for the Men's Final.

International Trap was the second week of competition. 6 Chargers competed in the event: junior Taylor Dale, senior Ava Downs, junior Marin McKinney, junior Lucci Kern, freshman Kinsey Duzan, and sophomore Roman Barrett. Hillsdale's top scorer was Dale, breaking 231/250 targets and earning a spot in both the Women's Open and Junior finals. She finished 5th in Open and took the gold medal for Junior Women. Her score also put her in position for a bronze medal in the collegiate category. Dale was selected to the USA Shooting Women's National Team and will travel to both Qatar for the ISSF World Championships and Peru for CAT Games this Fall.

Downs (218/250) also earned a spot in the Junior Women's final, but did not place. McKinney hit 207 targets in the match followed by Duzan (200) and Kern (170). Barrett's 229/250 got him into the Junior Men's final, but he did not place.

The next USA Shooting Selection Match takes place at the beginning of February in Palm Beach, Florida. Members of the Chargers team will compete at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Porpetto, Italy from September 14-19.
