The Hillsdale College women's cross country team got a chance to see the G-MAC Championship course and race against solid competition on Friday as the Chargers competed at the G-MAC Preview meet hosted by Tiffin.

Hillsdale finished third out of seven teams, with 81 points, and saw three of their five runners finish with collegiate bests in the 6K in the race.

Taylor Brodeur led the way for the Chargers with a time of 23:41.3 in seventh place, her fastest race as a collegian, and just edged teammate Mavis Banks, who also ran a personal best in the 6K to finish eighth in 23:43.4.

Savannah Fraley placed 12th for the Chargers in a solid time of 23:54.7, while freshman Audrey Hartman made a big improvement in her second college race, placing 23rd with a time of 24:40.4. Senior Megan Roberts rounded out the scoring runners for Hillsdale in 35th place, with a time of 26:00.9.

Hillsdale will look to build on this race with a big meet next Friday on tap, as the Chargers will bring their full squad to the Joe Piane Memorial Invite hosted by the University of Notre Dame in South Bend. The race always attracts a top field from across the midwest and should be a great test for the Chargers as October begins.
