Evan Berliner joined the Charger baseball coaching staff in August 2019 as an assistant coach. He comes to Hillsdale after two seasons at Ottawa University in Surprise, Arizona as an outfield coach and assistant hitting coach. In April 2020, he was promoted to Director of Baseball Operations, expanding his role in intergrating cutting-edge data analytics into Hillsdale College's player development program.

While at Ottawa, Berliner helped guide a program that qualified for the NCCAA World Series in its very first season. He helped oversee video breakdowns, recruiting, outfielder practice and assisted with tavel planning and budget. He previously served as the head coach of the Diamond Dawgz 14U head coach, an organization based out of Northbrook, Illinois. Previous coaching stops included Warren Township (IL) HIgh School and the Gurnee Riverdogs.

Berliner played his college baseball at Elmhurst College in Illinois, where he was an infielder. In his senior season of 2017, he received the Coach's Award, emblematic of the player who best represents the team both on and off the field. He received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Elmhurst in 2017, and in May 2019, earned his MBA in leadership from Ottawa University.
