Biography

2014: Earned honorable mention All-GLIAC honors after another lights-out season as the team’s closer…His five saves are tied for the second-most in a season in school history, and his 16 career saves easily lead all players in Charger baseball history for a career…Finished the season averaging 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings pitched, tops on the team…Had 26 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched, with a staff-best 1.35 earned-run average…Yielded just three earned runs in his 17 appearances…Struck out the side four times, including three times in four mound appearances in league play from April 5-26…Held opposing hitters to a .173 batting average.

2013: After missing the 2012 season due to injury, turned in a dominant 2013 season, registering six saves while becoming Hillsdale College’s career leader in that category…Had the second-most saves in a season in school history…Produced a team-best 1.57 earned run average and struck out 16 batters in 28.2 innings, spread among 14 appearances on the mound…Also won his first three decisions on the season, defeating SUNY-Canton, Alderson-Broaddus and St. Michael’s…ERA never went above 2.00 at any point during the season…Had four perfect appearances (no hits, no walks allowed) during the season…Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team.

2012: Missed the season due to injury.

2011: Settled into the role of closer in his freshman season and had five saves, all coming in GLIAC play…Had saves in back-to-back appearances vs. Lake Erie April 2 and Findlay April 10…Fanned three batters in two innings pitched against Mercyhurst March 1, and had two other appearances with two strikeouts in one inning pitched during the season.

High School: Earned four varsity letters while playing for the Farmington High School Falcons...Was named Rookie of the Year in 2007 on a team that was State Runners-Up...Team was conference champs in 2010...Had at least a .365 average in each season played...Had a career-high .398 average with two home runs in 2009...Went 5-0 on the mound in 2007...Was named first-team All-OAA and first-team All-Area in 2009...Was a team MVP and winner of the Cy Young and Gold Glove award in 2009...Was named first-team All-OAA and second-team All-Area in 2010...Was co-MVP and winner of the Gold Glove in 2010...Holds school record for most completed games in a season with six...Played for the South Oakland A's under Tony DeMonaco...Was involved with DECA for two years... Born October 6, 1992...Parents are Greg and Diane...Brother of current teammate Matt Pochmara...Is an Accounting major.
