Biography

2023: Experienced catcher who had one of his best seasons in 2023, appearing in 46 games with career highs in hits, runs scored, doubles, home runs, RBIs, walks drawn and stolen bases...flashed newfound extra-base power, smashing a career-high 12 doubles and three home runs...finished second on the team in stolen bases with 13 in an impressive campaign on the basepaths...had a strong series against Wayne St. on Feb. 25-26, going 6 for 13 in three games with five doubles, a RBI and three runs scored...hit a critical three-run triple to help Hillsdale rally to beat Findlay 7-6 in the G-MAC Tournament on May 10...an established starter heading into the 2024 season.

2022: Most frequently used starting catcher for the Chargers in 2022, with 27 starts, as well as three games in right field late in the season...continued to progress as a hitter, batting .257 with increased power, including three doubles, four triples and his first two career home runs...drove in the eventual game-winning runs with a two-run double in a 10-5 victory over Lake Erie (April 15)...hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to help seal a 4-2 win for Hillsdale over Malone (May 6)...had a strong season defensively, posting a .991 fielding percentage at catcher with 196 put-outs, 17 assists and seven baserunners caught stealing...will play an important role in Hillsdale's lineup in the 2023 season.

2021: Started 28 games as the Chargers' catcher in 2021, batting .222 with four doubles...solid defensive catcher posted a .970 fielding percentage with 150 putouts and 12 assists...led the Chargers in stolen bases on the season with 11...had four multi-hit games, including going 2 for 4 with a double in Hillsdale's G-MAC Tournament game against Tiffin (May 14)...also went 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs in a 13-8 win over Ohio Valley (March 20)...figures to be in the team's plans at catcher for the next few years.

2020: Appeared in five games with one start for the Chargers during the Covid-19-shortened season...finished with a perfect fielding percentage at catcher, with 12 put-outs and an assist...retains his freshman status due to the NCAA ruling on spring sports athletes affected by Covid-19 and has four years of eligibility remaining starting in 2021.

High School: Helped lead Otsego High (MI) to back-to-back district titles in both baseball and basketball in 2018 and 2019...four-year varsity baseball player was named All-Wolverine Conference in both 2017 and 2018, and earned MHSBCA All-Region honors in 2018...hit .333 through his first three years of high school with 111 total hits, and hit .395 as a junior with eight doubles, two triples and a home run...played travel baseball with the South Oakland A's...a four-year Otsego Scholar-Athlete Award winner, and member of the National Honor Society, the O-Club President, the Student Council and Class Officer Treasurer, and volunteered with Hometown Mission Trip...born May 14, 2001...parents are Steve and Jodi Sallee.
