Biography

2023: Put up huge numbers to earn second-team All-G-MAC honors as a designated hitter despite an extended absence due to injury, appearing in 40 games with 38 starts...put a G-MAC-leading 1.304 OPS and a .866 slugging percentage in conference play, and also finished third in the league in home runs (10) and second in batting average (.427) in conference games despite missing 11 conference contests...clutch hitter with game-winning singles against Lee on Feb. 5 and in the G-MAC Tournament against Findlay on May 10...earned G-MAC North Division Player of the Week honors for May 1-8 after hitting .565 with two doubles, a triple, three home runs and 10 RBIs in a series victory over Ashland that locked up a top four finish for the Chargers in G-MAC play...had 12 multi-hit games on the season and a 16 game hitting streak that is still alive entering the 2024 season...hit three home runs across four games in a series against Trevecca Nazarene on March 15-16...had three four-hit games, including a 4 for 4 performance with two doubles and two RBIs in a win over Wayne State on Feb. 25, as well as a 4 for 5 performance with a home run and three RBIs in a 10-6 win over Walsh on April 23...will be a team leader and a critical player for the Chargers as a senior in 2024.

2022: Continued to stand out for the Chargers as a power bat in G-MAC play, starting 45 games, 41 at first base, and hitting .287 with a .497 slugging percentage...finished the season second on the team in doubles with 11 and third in both RBIs (43) and home runs (eight)...his 23 career home runs are tied for fourth most in Charger history with two years of eligibility remaining...finished the year with 13 multi-hit games, the fourth-most on the team, and 12 multi-RBI games, the third most...had a four-hit game with three doubles in a 4-3 loss to Maryville (Feb. 26), and also went 4 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs in a 14-12 loss to Ashland (March 20) and 4 for 5 with a double and two RBIs in a 10-9 win over Wayne State (March 30)...will be a key part of the Charger lineup in his fourth season in 2023.

2021: A breakout star for the Chargers in 2021 who developed into one of the most feared power hitters in the conference, earning second-team All-G-MAC honors as a first baseman...threatened multiple power records in his first full season, batting .303 with 15 home runs, tying for third most in a full season in school history, and 50 RBIs, tied for seventh most in a season in program history...led Hillsdale with 11 multi-RBI games and had the second-longest games with a base reached streak (16) and the third-most multi hit games (13) on the season...went five for six with a double, two home runs and nine RBIs in a wild 18-14 win over Ohio Dominican (March 12)...also had three hit games with a home run against Illinois-Springfield (March 7), Walsh (April 3) and Findlay (May 8)...solid defender at first base finished with a .997 fielding percentage and 270 putouts.

2020: Started five games for the Chargers in the Covid-19-shortened season...tied for the team lead in batting average (.444) in 18 plate appearances, and added a double and two RBIs...Had a hit in every game he played, including multi-hit games against Indianapolis twice (Feb. 15-16) and against Wisconsin Parkside (March 11)...retains his freshman status due to the NCAA ruling on spring sports athletes affected by Covid-19 and has four years of eligibility remaining starting in 2021.

High School: One of the top hitters for a Midland High (MI) team that reached the MHSAA Division I semifinals in 2018...hit .444 that season with a 1.242 OPS, and batted .420 with 66 RBIs and eight home runs over his sophomore and junior seasons...earned first-team All-State honors in 2018, and was All-Saginaw Valley League in both 2017 and 2018...played travel baseball with the Detroit Metro Stars...earned Academic All-State honors in both 2017 and 2018...member of the National Honor Society, Church group leader, and a Chemic Ambassador in high school...born March 30, 2001...parents are David and Suzanne Landis.
