Biography

2022: Broke out in a big way and was on pace for an All-American caliber season before an injury knocked him out of the Chargers' final nine games...still earned unanimous All-Midwest Region honrs and first-team All-G-MAC honors despite playing 10 fewer games than most of his competition...every-day outfielder hit .378 with a team-leading 14 home runs, tied for the sixth most in a single season in Hillsdale history, and his .776 slugging percentage also was the second best in the program's history...finished second on the team in RBIs with 44 and chipped in nine doubles, three triples and eight stolen bases...became the first Charger in program history to earn NCBWA National Hitter of the Week honors after going 11 for 17 at the plate with five home runs, two doubles, a triple and 10 RBIs at McKendree (March 4-5)...during that weekend, accomplished a rare feat by hitting for the cycle (recording a single, double, triple and home run in the same game) in his team's 12-7 win over the Bearcats on March 4...excellent student became just the second player in Charger baseball history to be named an Academic All-American by CoSIDA...will be one of the most feared hitters in the Midwest with a healthy return in 2023.

2021: Limited by injuries throughout the 2021 campaign but still found ways to contribute, appearing in 22 games...batted .246 and was one of five Chargers to hit a double, a triple and a home run during the season...strong outfielder defensively who posted a perfect fielding percentage with 24 putouts in limited action...had a big G-MAC tournament, recording hits in three of the four games and going 2 for 4 with two RBIs in a win over Ohio Dominican (May 12)...could be in line for a breakout year with better health in 2022.

High School: Transfer from Eastern Michigan University who spent two years with the Eagles but has four years of eligibility remaining thanks to a redshirt year and a hardship waiver for spring athletes affected by Covid-19...was a four-year letterwinner at Eaton Rapids High School, helping the Greyhounds to two district championships and posting a .405 batting average with six home runs as a senior...finished his high school career with a .420 batting average, 16 home runs and 113 RBIs...earned first team All-State honors as a senior, and All-Conference honors four straight years including first-team All-Conference honors as a junior and senior...was also twice named to the Lansing State Journal Dream Team...played travel baseball with Capital City Baseball Kingdom...earned Academic All-Conference honors all four years of high school and made the Dean's List all four semesters at EMU...born May 15, 1999...parents are Brad and Heidi Beals.
