Biography

2025: Started all 12 games for the Chargers at quarterback, posting career highs across the board with 2,068 yards, 19 touchdowns, and a career-low interception total on the way to winning Hillsdale's Outstanding Offensive Back award...had multiple passing touchdowns in seven games, including three 3-touchdown games...received G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors as well as Hillsdale Player of the Week honors for a 242 yard, 3-touchdown performance in a road win over Walsh on Nov. 8, completing 82.1% of his passes...earned Hillsdale Offensive Player of the Week honors for a three-touchdown game against Kentucky Wesleyan on Sept. 27, adding 75 yards rushing...threw for a career-high 255 passing yards and three touchdowns in a come-from-behind win over McKendree in the season opener (Sept. 6)...threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another while completing 78.6% of his passes in an Oct. 25 win over Lake Erie, earning Hillsdale Offensive Player of the Week honors...along with his passing performances, finished second on the team in rushing...a key veteran offensive player with two years of starting experience entering 2026.

2024: After starting the season as the backup and making two starts in relief of an injured player, seized the starting quarterback job in the second half against Findlay (Sept. 28) and never looked back, leading Hillsdale to a 6-1 record over the final seven games and finishing with 1,455 passing yards and 13 touchdowns...had two-touchdown games against Ashland (Sept. 21) and Findlay (Sept. 28) and a critical three-touchdown performance in Hillsdale's upset win over Tiffin (Nov. 9)...earned Hillsdale Offensive Player of the Week honors after throwing for 170 yards and a touchdown and rushing for two more in a win over Thomas More (Nov. 2)...set a career high for passing yards with 228 against Walsh (Oct. 12)...enters 2025 as the starter looking to take a step forward from his first season on the field.

2023: Redshirted...will have four seasons of eligibility entering the 2024 season…named the team’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 14.

High School: Starting quarterback at MHSAA DI Brighton High School who led the Bulldogs to an 8-2 record and Kensington Lakes - West conference title with a perfect 7-0 mark as a senior in 2022...two-year starter was twice named All-Kensington Lakes and All-Livingston County, recording 2,804 yards, 28 total TDs and 69.8% completion percentage for his high school career...earned Academic All-State honors and was a member of the National Honor Society at Brighton...parents are Scott and Stacey McKernan.
