2024: One of the team's top defensive players, starting all 11 games and earning the team's Defensive Lineman of the Year award, as well as first team All-G-MAC honors...finished second on the team in tackles for loss (9.5) and sacks (5.5) despite playing on the interior of the defensive line...finished with a season-high six tackles, 2.5 for loss and a sack against Walsh (Oct. 12), earning Hillsdale's Defensive Player of the Week honors...also earned DPOW honors form his five tackle, 1.5 for loss performance in the season opener against UIndy (Sept. 7), and the Every Player, Every Play award for his five tackles and a sack against Michigan Tech (Sept. 14)...received Hillsdale's Big Stick Award three times -- against Michigan Tech (Sept. 14), Lake Erie (Oct. 19) and Thomas More (Nov. 2)...named to the One Play Warrior Club for his work on special teams in 2024...one of the program's top student-athletes who earned CSC Academic All-District honors for his performance in the classroom...should be a leader and a tone-setter for the program in 2025.
2023: Impact player in nine games at defensive tackle for the Chargers, finishing with 33 tackles, 3.5 for loss and two sacks, as well as a blocked kick…had a career-high eight tackles in Hillsdale’s win over Northwood on Sept. 30...finished with 1.5 sacks against Findlay on Sept. 23, winning the team’s Big Stick Award, and also was recognized with the Big Stick Award for Hillsdale’s win at Thomas More on Oct. 21…won the team’s Every Player Every Play award for his five tackle performance against Ashland on Sept. 16…excellent student who earned Hillsdale College’s President’s Scholar Athlete Award for his performance in the classroom…a key piece of Hillsdale’s defense entering 2024.
2022:Â Saw significant action as a defensive tackle and part of Hillsdale's defensive line rotation, appearing in 10 games...finished with a career-high three tackles in Hillsdale's 21-13 loss to Truman State on Sept. 17...will have the opportunity to significantly grow his role in 2023 as Hillsdale looks to replace multiple graduated linemen up front.
2021:Â Redshirted in 2021...earned Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 6...will have four seasons of eligibility beginning in 2022.
High School: Two-year impact player on the defensive line for a Chicago Christian (IL) team that went a combined 11-5 and made the IHSA 2A state playoffs in 2019...back-to-back Metro Suburban Conference Red Division Lineman of the Year and All-Illinois, and 2020 Metro Suburban Defensive MVP...finished his career with 60 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 15 sacks, leading the Knights in sacks in both 2019 and 2020...named an Illinois State Scholar for Academic Achievement, as well as Academic All-State honors, and graduated in the top 10 in his class...parents are Calvin and Christy Sperling.
