Biography

2021: Had a breakout season for the Chargers, seizing a starting job in the second week of the season and finishing the year as Hillsdale's leader in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns...finished fourth in the G-MAC in receiving yards (698) and third in touchdown catches (7) with fewer catches than any other player in the top eight of either category (45), earning second-team All-G-MAC honors...had his first 100-yard receiving game with 166 yards and a touchdown on nine catches against Indianapolis (Sept. 11)...had the eighth-most receiving yards in a single game in Charger history (193) and three touchdown catches in Hillsdale's 34-29 road upset of Findlay (Oct. 23), earning G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance...his 81-yard touchdown catch against the Oilers was the longest touchdown catch in the G-MAC in 2021...was named the Chargers' Outstanding Offensive Back for 2021 at the season-ending banquet, as well as Charger Offensive Player of the Week for the game against Indianapolis (Sept. 11) and the E.P.E.P Award recipient for the game against Findlay (Oct. 23).

2020-21: Carved out an early role on special teams and made his way into the starting lineup midseason as a true freshman due to injuries...finished second on the team in total receiving yardage (93) and led the Chargers in yards per catch (18.6) in three appearances...his 51 yard reception against Ohio Dominican (April 24) was Hillsdale's longest offensive play from scrimmage in the Spring 2021 season, and his 69 yards against the Panthers was the highest single-game total by a Charger receiver...expected to contend for a bigger role in the Fall 2021 campaign.

High School: Quarterbacked Hudsonville Unity Christian to a MHSAA Division 5 state title in 2018 and a Division 4 semifinal appearance in 2019, as well as playing on the Crusaders’ 2018-19 Division 2 state champion basketball team…earned OK Green All-Conference honors in both 2018 and 2019, and was named first-team All-State in Division 4 by the MHSFCA in 2019…rushed for 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns and added 448 yards passing and 10 passing TDs as a senior…also won a MHSAA Division 2 regional championship in the long jump in 2019, setting the Unity Christian school record with a distance of 22’ 3 ¾”…graduated Summa Cum Laude from Unity Christian with a 4.0 GPA…father, Mark, played wide receiver at Hillsdale from 1992-96, winning team MVP honors in 1996…parents are Mark and Stephanie TeSlaa.
