Biography

2024: Played in two games for Hillsdale, making his first career start against Northwood on Oct. 5, before injuries cut his season short...will be in the mix at several spots in the 2025 campaign.

2023: Made an appearance in Hillsdale’s win over Lake Erie on Oct. 28.

2022: Appeared in one game for the Chargers, seeing the field in Hillsdale's 41-7 road victory over Northwood on Oct. 15...named the Chargers' Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week for Sept. 4-10.

2021: Redshirted in 2021...earned Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 6...will have four seasons of eligibility beginning in 2022.

High School: Starting lineman for a Jenison (MI) team that went 5-2 and made the MHSAA Division 2 playoffs in 2020...three-sport athlete was also a MHSAA Division 1 regional qualifier as a heavyweight in wrestling, and ran track and field for the Wildcats...won the Build/Design award for the VEX Robotics competition while in high school...older brother, Matt, played offensive line for Hillsdale from 2011 to 2015 and started 17 games at right tackle for the Chargers...parents are Earl and Pat VanOpstall.
