2025: Broke into a crowded and experienced linebacker rotation with strong play, appearing in all 12 games and starting the final five for the Chargers...ranked sixth on the team with 43 tackles, 5.5 for loss...earned Hillsdale's Every Player Every Play Award with a then season-high eight tackles, two for loss and a sack against #19 Findlay on Oct. 11...received Hillsdale's Big Stick Award for his play against Northwood (Oct. 18)...Hillsdale's Special Teams Player of the Week in a road win over Walsh (Nov. 8)...Hillsdale's Defensive Player of the Week with a seven-tackle performance against Ohio Dominican (Nov. 15)...career-high nine tackles, 1.5 for loss in Hillsdale's bowl game against Upper Iowa (Dec. 6)...earned membership in the Five Star General Club for his play on special teams...strong student who earned CSC Academic All-District honors for his performance in the classroom...should be an integral part of Hillsdale's linebacking unit in 2026.

High School: Three year contributor to a powerhouse state of Indiana team at Zionsville and part of the team’s 6A state runner-up finish in 2021…two-time captain and an All-Region and All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference honoree as a senior, finishing his career with 181 total tackles, including 14 tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception…two-sport athlete and talented wrestler who was a three-year captain and a two-time All-State honoree for the Eagles, placing third in the state of Indiana at 182 pounds in 2023...won the 2024 IHSAA Mental Attitude Award at the 2024 wrestling state finals and was Academic All-State in both football and wrestling, graduating with honors this past spring…active volunteer in both youth wrestling and youth football in his community…parents are Richard and Cathleen Penola…older brother Scott played football for Hillsdale College from 2013 to 2017.
