Biography

2022: Starting safety for the Chargers in all 11 games who tied for the team-lead in interceptions with two and finished fourth on the team in tackles with 45...had six or more tackles in three of the Chargers' final four contests, including Hillsdale's 36-20 upset win over undefeated and nationally-ranked Ashland (Oct. 29)...had a 32-yard interception return in Hillsdale's 35-17 win over Walsh on Sept. 10, and also intercepted a pass in Hillsdale's game at Ohio Dominican on Nov. 12...should be an important part of Hillsdale's secondary again in 2023.

2021: Grew into a significant role as part of the team's safety rotation, appearing in 11 games and starting in multiple contests...had a career-high 12 tackles in the team's America's Crossroads Bowl contest against Truman St. (Dec. 4)...recorded his first career interception in the Chargers' homecoming victory against Missouri S&T (Sept. 25) and also picked off a pass in the win over Kentucky Wesleyan (Nov. 6)...finished the season with 24 total tackles, 17 solo...named to the Chargers' One Play Warrior Club for 2021 for his work on special teams...will contend for a full-time starting role in 2022.

2020-21: Did not see game action.

High School: Standout wide receiver and safety who helped lead New Philadelphia High School (Ohio) to three OHSAA Division III playoff appearances, the first three playoff victories in program history and two East Central Ohio League titles in his four years in high school...earned three first-team All-ECOL and All-Region 9 honors, and three Division III All-Ohio team honors, making second-team All-Ohio in 2019…set program records for career receptions (137), receiving yards (2,525) and receiving touchdowns (37), while also finishing with nine career interceptions as a safety…was a two time district champion in the long jump and 800 meter relay for the Quakers in track and field…Academic All-Ohio Kiwanis 4.0 Banquet honoree all four years in high school…parents are Joseph and Kristin Zemis.
