High School: Star tailback and two-way player for nearby Hillsdale High School, just two miles south of the Hillsdale College campus…rushed for 1,826 career rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns in three years of varsity football, while also recording 318 total tackles…named team MVP at Hillsdale in both 2021 and 2023…talented wrestler who finished runner-up in Division 3 in the state of Michigan at 190 pounds as a senior, and was a three-time Academic All-State wrestler…graduated with high honors from Hillsdale High and was president of the school’s National Honor Society branch…active volunteer through his church and as a youth wrestling coach…father Aaron Petersen was a football and baseball player at Hillsdale in the 90s, mother Kathleen was a volleyball player at Hillsdale and older brothers Martin and Shannon both played football for Hillsdale College as well.
