2022: One of Hillsdale's top reserves on the defensive line in 2022, played extensively with the Chargers' second unit and was disruptive, finishing tied for second on the team in tackles for loss with 6.5...tied for the third most tackles by a defensive lineman on the season with 27 and also chipped in two sacks...had a career high seven tackles, two for loss and recorded his first career sack assist in Hillsdale's game at Kentucky Wesleyan on Oct. 1...finished wirh a solo sack in Hillsdale's 41-7 win over Northwood on Oct. 15... will battle for a starting spot in 2023 with players in front of him on the defensive line graduating.

2021: Made appearances in two games for the Chargers, primarily on special teams...earned Hillsdale Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 2...will compete for a bigger role in the fall 2022 season.

2020-21: Appeared in one game against Tiffin (April 3) as a reserve defensive lineman.

High School: Two-year defensive starter for a Schoolcraft (Michigan) team that went 19-5 and won two MHSAA district titles in 2018 and 2019, losing to the eventual state runner-up in the regional round both years…moved from linebacker to defensive end as he grew in size, finishing his high school career with 204 tackles, two interceptions, nine sacks and three forced fumbles…was named first team All-State for Division 7 as a senior by the MHSFCA, and was a two time All-Conference and Kalamazoo Gazette Dream Team selection…earned Academic All-State honors in both football and basketball as a senior, was a member of the National Honor Society, and made the Dean’s List at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he was dual-enrolled in high school…parents are Cory and Michelle DeGroote.
