High School: Key two-way player on a Lansing Catholic (MI) team that made the MHSAA Division 5 state semifinals in both 2019 and 2020, and won the D5 state title in 2019...earned first-team All-CAAC honors and was a team captain in 2020, rushing for 845 yards in two years as a starter and chipping in 31 solo tackles defensively in 2020...was a member of the National Honor Society and earned first team Academic All-CAAC all four years of high school...parents are Jay and Theresa Gruber.
