David Choi

David Choi made a cross-country trip from his previous home in Seattle, Washington to become a part of the Charger squad as an assistant in the summer of 2020, and is entering his second season with Hillsdale in 2021-22.

Prior to arriving at Hillsdale, Choi most recently served as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Highline College in Seattle. Before Highline, Choi spent twelve years at the high school level in Washington as head coach at Lakewood High School, Decatur High School, and The Northwest School. While at Decatur, Choi was named as Coach of the Year by South Puget Sound League in 2015, and while at The Northwest School, the Haus were named the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Academic State Champions. He also has experience at the grassroots level, as Founder and Director of the 15U, 16U, 17U Northwest Greyhounds from 2012-2016, a program that developed a bevy of players that have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels. 

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Choi played at Decatur High School in Federal Way, Washington. His Decatur Gator team played in the 2007 4A WIAA State tournament with a 23-2 record. Choi then went to Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington to earn his undergraduate degree, as well as a Master's in Teaching.

At Hillsdale, Choi assists with recruiting, operations, scouting, video, analytics, graphic design, and on the-court/off-the-court coaching. Coach Choi, his wife Anna, and son, Damian (age 4) are proud residents of the Hillsdale Downtown Historic District.
