Biography

2024: Had a stellar campaign that saw him become the program's first All-American and Academic All-American in the same season since 1972...was named an honorable mention All-American player by the Don Hansen Football Committee and a second-team Academic All-American by CSC as a special teams player...also named the G-MAC Special Teams Player of the Year after setting a new G-MAC record with 33.3 yards per kickoff return, and recorded multiple kickoff return touchdowns, including a G-MAC best 95 yard return against Walsh (Oct. 12)...led the G-MAC and finished second in NCAA DII in kickoff return yards with 732, and also led the G-MAC and ranked in the top five in NCAA DII with 1,779 All-Purpose yards...Hillsdale's top receiver on the season, averaging a G-MAC-leading 28.3 yards per catch and finishing with eight touchdowns...had a three-touchdown game that included a 93 yard kickoff return at Findlay (Sept. 28), earning G-MAC Special Teams Player of the Week for that performace...was named Hillsdale's offensive player of the week twice and special teams player of the week three times in 2024 and was recognized as the 2024 Team MVP at the end of the season.

2023: Emerged as an early contributor and had the best true freshman season by a Hillsdale wideout in nearly a decade…led the Chargers in receiving touchdowns and was second in receptions and total yards…earned the team’s Every Player Every Play award for his five catches, 114 yards and one receiving touchdown against Findlay on Sept. 23…also received the E.P.E.P. award for two receiving touchdowns in Hillsdale’s 35-33 road win at Thomas More on Oct. 21, and was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Week with two rushing touchdowns against Walsh on Nov. 4…named to the One Play Warrior Club for his work on special teams…Hillsdale’s most productive returning skill position player entering the 2024 season.

High School: Prolific dual-threat quarterback at small-school Michigan powerhouse Ottawa Lake Whiteford who helped lead the Bobcats to the 2022 MHSAA D8 state title as a senior...two-time All-State player who was named the AP Division 7-8 Player of the Year and the Monroe County Player of the Year as a senior in 2022 after passing for 1,241 yards and accounting for 38 total touchdowns on the season...multi-sport athlete was also an All-Region baseball player in 2021 and 2022 for the Bobcats...consistent honor roll honoree who earned Academic All-State honors throughout his career with the Bobcats...parents are Kevin and Elizabeth Ruddy.
