Biography
2024: Broke through to become a starting setter in Hillsdale's 6-2 system, appearing in all 27 matches and posting career highs across the board...proved to be a dangerous server, finishing third on the team with 29 aces...finished with 20 or more assists in nine matches, including a career-high 36 against Findlay in the G-MAC Tournament on Nov. 22...eight matches with multiple aces, including a career high four against Purdue Northwest (Sept. 14)...strong student who earned CSC Academic All-District honors for her work in the classroom in 2024...now a veteran player, should be set to play a big role and provide leadership for the Chargers in 2025.
2023: Carved out a regular role for Hillsdale with 20 match appearances as a substitute setter and defensive specialist…set a new career high in assists with 18 on Sept. 23 against Thomas More…recorded new single-season personal bests in virtually every statistical category…contributed a collegiate-best three kills and two assists against Malone on Nov. 9…will look to contribute at multiple positions again for Hillsdale in 2024.
2022: Appeared in nine matches as a reserve setter in her first season with the Chargers...posted a season-best 13 assists in Hillsdale's sweep of visiting Ursuline on Oct. 22...also set a new career-high in digs with eight in the Chargers' five-set win over Black Hills St. on Aug. 27.
High School: Exciting setter recruit from Hudsonville Unity Christian on the west side of Michigan, who will get a chance to compete for early playing time as Hillsdale looks to fill its vacant setter position in the fall of 2022...a critical player for a Crusaders squad that won the OK Blue Conference title in 2021, Josie's senior year, and reached back-to-back MHSAA Division 2 regional finals in the rugged Grand Rapids-area volleyball scene...in three varsity seasons, recorded over 1,400 assists, 100 aces and 170 kills as Unity Christian's setter, while earning back-to-back All-OK Blue honors and second team All-State honors as a senior in 2021...honor roll student all four years of high school, and an active volunteer who's gone on a mission trip to Africa...older brother, Isaac, played wide receiver for the Hillsdale College football team, while her father, Mark, was one of the team's top receivers in the mid-90s as well...mother is Stephanie TeSlaa.
