2016: Rebounded impressively from a season-ending injury in November 2015 to emerge as one of the top right-side hitters in the Midwest Region as a sophomore in 2016…Recorded the ninth-most kills in a single season in school history (rally score era) with 305…Set a school record in the rally score era for kills in a season by a right-side hitter…Had nine or more kills in 23 of the team’s 28 matches, and had a career-high of 22 against Grand Valley State Sept. 16…That was the fourth-most kills in a match by any Charger player since 2008…Averaged more than four kills per set in two wins against GVSU during the season…Had 10 straight matches of 10 or more kills from Sept. 27-Oct. 22…Had a match of 18 kills and one error in a win at Northwood Nov. 2…Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team.
2015: Spectacular, powerful hitter who saw her season cruelly cut short due to injury on Nov. 13…Will be back to full strength by the start of the 2016 campaign…Averaged nearly 2.5 kills per set, and despite missing four matches, finished third on the team with 247 kills…Had 13 matches of double-digit kills and three other with 9…Set a career-high with 19 kills against eventual regional champion Rockhurst at the Midwest Regional Crossover Tournament on Oct. 16…Had 11 kills with a .476 hitting percentage in a win over future conference foe Ursuline on Sept. 11…Had 4 or more total blocks six times, and recorded a career-high 9 digs in a win at Ashland on Sept. 19…Led the team with 8 kills against GLIAC champion Ferris State on Oct. 24.
High School: A big-time offensive player for one of the elite prep volleyball programs in the state at East Kentwood...Had 686 kills in her senior season of 2014...First-Team All-State as a senior, and was First-Team OK Red All-Conference in 2013 and 2014, was All-Region twice and earned honorable mention all-state honors as a junior...Team captain as a senior...Was part of three state championship teams in track and field and was all-region and all-state twice...Played club volleyball for DFFO Elite...Cousin of former Charger Rachel VanderWall, who played for Hillsdale from 2007-11...Took a mission trip to Mexico and has volunteered coaching volleyball in the Grand Rapids area as well as being a part of the church ministry...Born Aug. 11, 1996...Parents are Craig and Dorothy.
