October 6, 2012 - The Hillsdale College men's cross country team got a first-person preview of the course it will run on for NCAA Regionals in a few weeks Saturday afternoon.

 

As a team, the Chargers placed 8th at the Lucian Rose Invitational, held by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Hillsdale had 192 team points at the meet.

 

Joshua Mirth ran to his best finish at a race in his young career, finishing second overall with a time of 24:59 on the 8K course. Mirth finished 19 seconds behind the race's winner.

 

Luke Hickman also turned in a strong race, placing 25th overall, finishing the race in 25:51. Freshman John Bell was the team's number three runner, finishing 43rd, while Paul Ausum and Andrew Koehlinger rounded out the top five for Hillsdale.

Friday, a handful of runners made the trip to Grand Rapids to take part in the Michigan Intercollegiates, hosted by Calvin College.

Freshman Nolan Wojtowicz was Hillsdale's top runner at that meet, finishing 60th overall with a time of 26:24.
