Women's Preview
The overwhelming favorite on the women's side is Cedarville, which has won four of the past five G-MAC women's titles and regained the crown in a dominant showing at Northwood in 2025, scoring just 27 points to win by 40. Junior Alyson Enns, fifth last year individually ,and sophomore Caroline Hamilton, eighth, lead a strong pack that's ranked fourth in the Midwest Region currently and looking to ride the momentum back to the NCAA DII Championships in December. On paper, the closest challengers looking to take advantage of a Yellow Jacket trip up are Findlay, ranked third a year ago and sixth in the region currently and led by junior Lauren Sattler, who finished sixth in 2025, and Ashland, who placed fifth a year ago but are ranked ninth in the Midwest Region and are led by freshman phenom Reese Landis. Always lurking and a contender are Walsh, runner-up a year ago and led this season by sisters Katie and Hannah Ison. Hillsdale will look to stay in the mix after finishing fourth in 2025 with a small but talented squad headlined by All-G-MAC honorees Allison Kuzma and Eleanor Clark.

In the individual race, Kuzma is the defending champion for Hillsdale and the heavy favorite to repeat after earning All-American honors last season and winning multiple national titles in the 5K and 10K in the 2025-26 track and field campaign. Landis from Ashland will be interesting competition for Kuzma after finishing runner-up to her in the 5K and 10K at the G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field championships last spring, while Enns and Hamilton from Cedarville, Sattler from Findlay and the Ison sisters from Walsh also will be in the mix.

Men's Preview
The men might be in for another surprise this year with a potential third straight different champion after Hillsdale brought an end to five seasons of Walsh dominance in 2024. The Cavaliers reclaimed the crown in 2025 but enter the meet ranked third among G-MAC teams in the Midwest Region. That opens the door for current favorite Findlay, just fourth a year ago but currently ranked second in the Midwest Region. The Oilers return a strong pack from last season's tight race, with Asher Long, Benjamin Hall and Ty Rosegarden all making major gains to help push the Oilers into contention. Tiffin, third a year ago and always a contender, is another team looking to break through for the title, led by veteran and returning All-G-MAC runner Isaac Houghton. Although they're underdogs this year, one can never count out the Cavaliers, either, with a strong pack that includes returning All-G-MAC runner David D'Altorio, who took fifth last year to help Walsh claim the crown. Hillsdale, fifth last season, will hope to get in the mix as well with a talented young group led by sophomores John Richardson and Jefferson Regitz, as well as veteran Caleb Youngstedt.

In the individual race, Ashland's Wes Taylor comes in with the top time among competing runners, but he'll be pursued closely by Tiffin's Houghton and Liam Stone, Findlay's Haal and Walsh's D'Altorio in what should be a tight battle. The G-MAC will have a new champion in 2026 with the graduation of 2025 winner Ramon Rodriguez of Tiffin.
