The Charger men's tennis team is taking a road trip through the state of Illinois this weekend, and the team lost the first of those matches, 6-3, to McKendree University Friday afternoon.

Hillsdale is now 3-2 on the season.

Sophomore Dugan Delp was victorious at No. 2 singles, earning a straight sets 6-4, 6-2 win. Freshman Gianpiero Placidi was the team's other singles winner, picking up a 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 win at the No. 3 singles flight.

Placidi finished off a perfect day by teaming with John Ciraci for a dramatic 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 2 doubles.

UP NEXT: The Chargers face Illinois-Springfield Saturday.
