Box score

The brand-new outdoor tennis courts at Hillsdale College were dedicated in a grand ceremony Saturday morning. The courts, now known as the Mary Delp Tennis Courts, were celebrated on an appropriately gorgeous day of weather on campus.

In the first competition on the courts after their naming, the Charger men lost a close match to Walsh University 5-4. Hillsdale is now 6-9 overall and 1-6 in the GLIAC.

A number of closely contested matches took place throughout the singles flights, with each team coming out on top.

Freshman Justin Hyman was a 7-5, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles, and teamed up with sophomore Dugan Delp for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

Freshmen Jerry Hewitt and Zach Rabitoy started their day with an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Freshman John Ciraci rallied from a 4-6 loss in the opening set of his No. 4 singles match to win the final two 6-1, 6-2.
