The Hillsdale College men's tennis team is spending Spring Break in South Carolina, but this is a working trip.

The Chargers opened play down south against West Liberty Sunday morning and suffered a frustrating 5-4 loss to the Hilltoppers. Hillsdale is 4-6 on the season.

Hillsdale lost two singles matches and a doubles match where tiebreakers were necessary. Only one of Hillsdale's three wins at singles needed a third set.

Sophomore Justin Hyman cruised to a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Milan Mirkovic was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles, and Julien Clouette picked up a 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 victory at No. 6 singles, coming up big in the third and deciding set.

Hyman teamed up with freshman Charlie Adams for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
