Chargers' GLIAC Tournament Run Ends

Box Score

A year of exponential improvement came to an end Sunday for the Hillsdale College men's tennis team.

The Chargers lost 5-2 to Grand Valley State in the third-place match at the 2017 GLIAC Tournament, held in Midland. Hillsdale concludes the season at 13-10 and finished in fourth place in the tournament after finishing fifth during the regular season.

Freshman Charlie Adams wrapped up a terrific rookie season with a pair of wins over the Lakers. At No. 2 singles, he earned a 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 victory. At No. 1 doubles, he and Justin Hyman took down the No. 6-ranked doubles team in the Midwest, GVSU's Alex van Steenoven and Zach Phillips 8-3.

In just its second year of existence, Hillsdale improved from six to 13 wins and won a postseason tournament match for the first time.
