Dragons Edge Charger Men

Box Score

For the third straight match, the Hillsdale College men's tennis team played a tight match that ended in a 5-4 score. However, the final score was not in the Chargers' favor Sunday afternoon in Ohio.

Tiffin won all three doubles matches in taking a 5-4 decision from Hillsdale. The Chargers are now 11-8 overall and 4-4 in the GLIAC, while the Dragons improved to 6-1 in conference play.

Three of the six singles matches needed a third set, while the No. 3 doubles match needed "extra sets" to decide a winner.

Freshman Charlie Adams cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Milan Mirkovic rallied from a 6-1 first-set loss to post a 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Dugan Delp came through in the clutch, winning a tightly played No. 4 singles match to the tune of 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. John Ciraci rounded out the Charger winners with a 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 win at No. 5 singles.

Tiffin won a 9-8 marathon at No. 3 doubles, a match that was symbolic of one of the most competitive matchups of the season to date for Hillsdale.
