Chargers take 5-0 loss to Midwest Regional power Ferris St.

The Hillsdale College men's tennis team faced one of the top teams in the Midwest Region on the road on Sunday, falling to undefeated Ferris St. 5-0.

Sophomore Sean Barstow and junior Tyler Conrad put up the toughest fights for the Chargers against a strong Bulldog lineup, pairing for Hillsdale at No. 1 doubles in a 6-3 loss to Ferris St.'s Mathis Guerre and Jan Koupil. Barstow also fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to Guerre for the Chargers, while Conrad lost the first set 6-3 to Yannic Mader at No. 2 singles but was tied 1-1 in the second set when the match was stopped as the Bulldogs had already clinched the team victory.

Sophomore Daniel Gilbert and junior Bogdan Janiciejevic also played for the Chargers, taking a 6-2 loss at No. 2 doubles and each falling in their singles matches to the Bulldogs as well.

Hillsdale (2-4) will look to bounce back next week with two more Midwest Regional matches, one against Wayne St. on Saturday at the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield, Michigan, and one on Sunday at home against Northwood.
