The Hillsdale College men's track and field team got an early start to the indoor season on Wednesday and Thursday, as Chargers heptathlete Zealand Tarrant participated in a multi-event focused meet hosted by the Chargers in the Biermann Athletic Center.

Tarrant took eighth in the meet with a score of 2,960, taking part in his first-ever heptathlon event and building experience that should pay dividends down the road. The junior from Traverse City had his best showing in the 1,000m run, winning in a time of 2:44.58 to help make his way into the top eight.

Hillsdale's full team will open up tomorrow, Friday, with a trip to the Findlay Opener in the team's lone full meet before the Christmas Break.
