The Hillsdale College men's cross country team placed fifth in a tough and extremely fast race in the 2025 G-MAC Championships on Saturday, hosted by Northwood at the Fisher Family Trails in Midland, Michigan.
With the top six teams all separated by less than 70 points, the finish was tight, with two Chargers earning All-G-MAC honors. Hillsdale was led by senior
Gabriel Phillips, who battled with the leaders all race and earned his second first team All-G-MAC honor with a third-place finish in 24:16.4, less than 10 seconds behind the eventual race winner. He was joined on the awards stand by junior
Caleb Youngstedt, who took 17th in a new personal best 8K time of 24:53.9 to earn second-team All-G-MAC honors for the second straight year as well for Hillsdale.
Senior
Nathaniel Osborne took 21st, just one spot off of a second All-Conference honor of his own, in a personal best time of 24:55.9 as well for the Chargers, while freshman
John Richardson placed 30th in a personal best time of 25:14.9 as well for Hillsdale and fellow freshman
Jefferson Regitz also PRed to take 42nd in 25:29.0 and round out the Chargers' scoring runners.
Sophomore
Zach Self took 59th in a personal best time of 25:55.5 and sophomore
Will Winsor placed 67th in a personal best time of 26:05.6 as well for Hillsdale.
Walsh won the team title with 57 points, with Ashland in second place and Tiffin in third.
Hillsdale next heads to Kenosha, Wisconsin for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on November 8. The top three teams and top two individuals not on a qualifying team will automatically advance to the NCAA DII Championships, also scheduled to be held in Kenosha on Nov. 22, with at-large spots also to be awarded as well.
