Hillsdale's Ruddy earns third G-MAC Player of the Week honor (Nov. 10-17)

Well-known for the threat he poses on special teams, junior Shea Ruddy reminded fans of the damage he can do on offense as a wide receiver this past weekend.

The Hillsdale College football star tore up Ohio Dominican in a 31-14 Chargers victory to earn G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Monday. It's his first offensive honor of the season but his third overall after being named Special Teams Player of the Week twice prior.

Ruddy finished with seven catches for 154 yards and two important touchdowns for Hillsdale against the Panthers. He hauled in the Chargers' opening score on the first drive of the game from four yards out to set an early tone for what would be an emphatic Chargers victory, and then put the exclamation point on the win by taking a screen pass from quarterback Colin McKernan 80 yards for his second touchdown of the day to give Hillsdale a 21-point fourth quarter lead and seal the victory.

After a torrid final few weeks, Ruddy ends the 2025 regular season as Hillsdale's leading receiver for the second straight year, with 38 catches for 598 yards and six touchdowns. Along with his offensive role, Ruddy continues to be one of the top kick returners in the nation, leading all of NCAA DII in total yards (783), ranking seventh in return average (32.6) and tied for second with two kickoff return touchdowns. A versatile player, Ruddy also joined a very small club this season that includes Patrick Crayton of Northwestern Oklahoma State of players who have recorded a rushing touchdown, passing touchdown, receiving touchdown, and kick return touchdown in the same season. He also tied Hillsdale's record for career kick return touchdowns with his fourth, and moved into the top 10 all-time at Hillsdale in career receiving touchdowns with 19.
