Fall 2025 was yet another great semester of competition for the Hillsdale College Shotgun Team. At every turn, Charger athletes brought home medals and together earned team trophies. All signs point to a strong Spring and great performances at the 2026 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championships.

The first major event of the Fall was the ACUI/SCTP Upper Midwest Conference Championship held at the Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio. The Chargers took 1
st place Team High Overall with a total score of 2129/2250. Charger athletes swept the Women's High Overall podium (junior
Madeline Corbin, sophomore
Taylor Dale, and sophomore
Marin McKinney) plus earned 3
rd in Men's High Overall (senior
Leif Andersen). Hillsdale finished 1
st place Team in Doubles Skeet, Super Sporting, American Skeet, and Trap Doubles as well as 2
nd place in American Trap and Sporting Clays. Individually and between all 6 disciplines, Chargers won 8 gold medals, 7 silvers, and 4 bronzes. First place finishers included senior
Kyle Fleck (men's Skeet Doubles), Corbin (women's Skeet Doubles, Super Sporting, Sporting Clays, and American Trap), Dale (women's American Skeet), Andersen (men's Trap Doubles), and sophomore
Lucci Kern (women's Trap Doubles).

The ACUI/SCTP Fall Central Midwest Conference Championship was held the next weekend in Sparta, IL. Hillsdale took 2
nd place Team High Overall as well as 3
rd place Men's and Women's individual High Overall (junior
Luke Johnson,
Taylor Dale). In team events, Chargers earned 3
rd in Skeet Doubles and Sporting Clays plus 1
st in Super Sporting. Freshman
Roman Barrett earned 2
nd in men's Trap Doubles while sophomore
Marin McKinney was 2
nd in women's Trap Doubles and Dale was 3
rd in the same discipline. Johnson and Dale each ended up 3
rd in men's and women's Sporting Clays respectively and Dale also earned 1
st in women's Super Sporting. In American Skeet, McKinney earned 3
rd place woman.

At the NSCA National Championship in San Antonio, TX, the Chargers brought home 3
rd place Collegiate Team in the Main Event. Andersen was 5
th place in AA Class while Corbin was 15
th in A and the highest A Class Lady finisher. Junior
Alex Hoffman and Dale earned 6
th in B Class and 1
st B Class Lady respectively. 2
nd C Class Lady and 12
th overall in that class went to McKinney.

The Chargers earned top honors across the board at the Michigan College Tri-State Shoot. Hosted at Hillsdale College's own Halter Shooting Sports Education Center, the team took 1
st place Team in Trap, Skeet, Sporting, and High Overall. When the scores were finalized, all but 4 individual medals went to Hillsdale athletes. 1
st through 3
rd men's High Overall went to Andersen, freshman
Zach Hinze, and senior
Davis Hay respectively. Corbin and Dale finished 1
st and 2
nd Women's High Overall. Event gold medalists included Hinze (men's Trap, Skeet), Corbin (women's Trap, Skeet), Andersen (men's Sporting Clays), and Dale (Women's Sporting Clays).

Our final major shoot of the year was the USA Shooting Selection Match held in Tucson, AZ in which 11 Chargers participated. Corbin (Skeet), Dale (Trap), and junior
Ava Downs (Trap) each earned spots on both USA Shooting's Open and Junior Women's National Teams. Those three plus Hay (junior men's skeet), Johnson (junior men's skeet), Hinze (junior men's skeet), and McKinney (junior women's trap) also performed well enough to compete in the match finals. Downs, Dale, and Corbin will each have opportunities to compete in ISSF World Cups and Junior World Championships in 2026. The following medals were earned by Hillsdale athletes:
