2025 CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Teams
The Hillsdale College volleyball team wraps up 2025 on Tuesday with another strong haul of academic awards from College Sports Communicators.
Once again, four Chargers volleyball players met the demanding criteria to earn CSC Academic All-District honors for 2025, including two repeat honorees. Seniors
Josie TeSlaa and
Chloe Pierce received the honor for the second straight season, while senior
Adi Sysum and sophomore
Caroline Lanicek are earning the distinction for the first time.
The CSC Academic All-America® program began in 1952 and has awarded teams since then, seeking out student athletes with an impressive blend of academic and athletic success. Being named to an All-District team is the first step in the process, and requires an athlete maintain a 3.5 or better GPA while either playing in 90% or starting two-thirds of a team's matches. All four of Hillsdale's honorees fulfilled the criteria and earned recognition from CSC this fall.
TeSlaa was the top setter for the Chargers this season, leading the team in assists with 700. The senior's 1,327 career assists rank her 10
th all-time in program history in the stat. She's also excelled in the classroom for the Chargers, receiving the Hillsdale President's Scholar-Athlete Award for maintaining a 3.8 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout her time at Hillsdale, along with several other honors.
Pierce played in every match for the Chargers and was a key performer in the back row, taking over as the team's libero midway through the season and excelling down the stretch. She finished as the team's leader in both digs and service aces, and also was an excellent student at Hillsdale, receiving the President's Scholar Athlete distinction as well along with a variety of other academic honors.
Sysum had a sensational senior year for the Chargers, leading Hillsdale in kills and finishing second on the team in blocks while earning first team All-G-MAC honors, as well as two G-MAC Player of the Week awards. As a student, Sysum is on track to graduate with honors from Hillsdale and will finish her collegiate career as a four time Academic All-G-MAC honoree.
Lanicek had a breakout season for Hillsdale, playing in 25 of 26 matches and serving as one of the team's top hitters on the outside, finishing second to Sysum in total kills with 198. She's off to a strong start in the classroom as well at Hillsdale, recording Academic All-G-MAC honors last year as a freshman.
