The Hillsdale College men's basketball team took a tough road loss at Tiffin on Thursday night, falling 72-58.
The Chargers struggled out of the gate offensively, trailing 29-25 at the half, and were unable to keep pace with a big Tiffin run to start the second half that stretched the Dragons' lead to as many as 26 points. While Hillsdale was able to cut into the deficit late, the run came well past the point of any hope of a comeback.
Mikey McCollum led Hillsdale with 12 point and three rebounds, and
Charles Woodhams added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Joe Reuter put up a nine point, five rebound effort as well for the Chargers, and
Cole McWhinnie added five points and seven assists off the bench.
Hillsdale (16-8, 10-6 G-MAC) enters its next contest Saturday at home against Northwood University looking to end a slide that's seen the Chargers lose six of their last seven games. The contest also will serve as Senior Day for Hillsdale, and starts at 3 p.m.
