A strong day that included two more individual conference titles ended with the Hillsdale College women's track and field team placing third for the second straight season in the 2025 G-MAC Indoor Championships on Saturday hosted by Ashland.

One of the big themes for Hillsdale this weekend was youth, as both of Hillsdale's Friday individual crowns were won by freshmen. In the first track event on Saturday afternoon, a third freshman, Evyn Humphrey, added herself to the list with an impressive performance in the mile run, taking first in a new personal best time of 4:48.94 that doubled as a NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark. 

Humphrey made a good run at a second title in the 3,000m run later in the day, but settled for runner-up honors in a strong time of 9:59.16, just edging out her teammate and the G-MAC 5,000m run champion, Allison Kuzma, who took third in 10:00.85. Humphrey's 18 points scored were huge for Hillsdale and also led her to be named G-MAC Freshman of the Meet, becoming the fourth Charger women's track and field athlete to earn that honor since 2018. Kuzma's 16 points meant she was Humphrey's closest competitor for the award, a sign that Hillsdale's distance squad is set up well for the next three seasons.

While Humphrey and Kuzma were dominating on the track, Hillsdale added a fourth G-MAC Championship in the pole vault. Junior Tara Townsend cleared 3.98 meters on her final attempt to claim the crown, the first G-MAC title of her career. One of her closest competitors was her own teammate, senior Kaylee Jackson, who cleared a season-best 3.88 meters to set a new NCAA DII provisional mark, and finished fifth on jumps.

Hillsdale had several more athletes place in a strong showing in the meet. Senior Reese Dragovich took runner-up honors in a time of 2:10.18 to lead three Chargers placers in the 800m dash, as senior Nicole Marshall took fourth in 2:13.70, also a provisional mark, and sophomore Zoe Burke placed sixth in 2:13.95. Dragovich and Burke also teamed up with Francesca Federici and Josee Behling to place fourth in the 4x400m relay with a season best and provisional time of 3:46.85.

The Chargers had several placers in the shorter events. Freshman Sarah Chappelle took fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.80, and Behling placed seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 56.63. Lucy Minning scored in two events for the Chargers, placing sixth in the 200m dash in 24.40 and eighth in the 60m dash in 7.63.

In the field, senior Grace Chen took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.16 meters, and Katie Sayles placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 13.03 meters. Hillsdale had two placers in the high jump, as freshman Baelyn Zitzmann took fifth with a clearance of 1.61 meters, and senior Reagan Dahlquist placed sixth with a height of 1.56 meters.

Hillsdale finished with 114 points, more than 30 ahead of fourth place and trailing only champion Ashland and runner-up Findlay.

The only indoor meet remaining for the Chargers on the calendar is the NCAA DII Indoor Championships, scheduled to take place on March 14 and 15 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Both Tara Townsend in the pole vault and Katie Sayles in the weight throw look set to qualify, with several other athletes on the bubble and awaiting the announcement of the field on March 4.
