Box Score The Hillsdale College men's tennis team completed an undefeated week on Hilton Head Island on Thursday, taking a 6-1 win over Millersville to improve to 6-5 overall.
The Chargers took the doubles point with a 6-2Â win at No. 1 doubles from sophomore
Ellis Klanduch and
Henry Hammond, and a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles from
Rintaro Goda and
Ryan Papazov, then won five of six singles flights to seal the victory.
Freshman
Eddie Bergelin took a three-set thriller with a 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 victory over Millersville's Sebastian Castro at No. 4 singles, while Klanduch won a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles over Lino Morin and Papazov took a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles over Millersville's Victor Suarez.
Henry Hammond won the No. 5 singles match, 6-1, 6-4 over Sandor Wulf and
Sam Plys took care of business at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Paul Bagnouls.
Next up for the Chargers as they return to Michigan is conference play. Hillsdale opens the G-MAC schedule on March 22 with a trip to Kentucky to take on host Kentucky Wesleyan, with a match against Thomas More the following day.
